Within the country music space, we haven't seen many women in CEO roles, especially at large corporate entities. While the genre has long been male-dominated, female leaders are pushing for more representation both on and off the stage. From running record labels to producing hit albums, these women are proving that their influence is essential to the future of country music.
Today marked a historic day in Nashville as we now have female representation across all three major labels; Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony Music Group. With today's announcement of Taylor Lindsey as Chairman/CEO of Sony, she now joins the exclusive club of female CEO/Presidents alongside Cindy Mabe (Universal) and Cris Lacy (Warner).
