Carrie Underwood, The American Idol alum will sing "America the Beautiful" alongside the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club. The performance will occur after JD Vance’s oath of office and just before Trump takes his Presidential Oath.

The announcement surprised many of Underwood’s fans, as the singer has previously kept her political views private. She has since addressed her decision to take the stage, clarifying her reasons for participating.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood shared in a statement. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

This decision has sparked debate, particularly given Underwood’s past remarks about steering clear of politics. In a 2019 interview with The Guardian, she shared her thoughts on staying neutral.

“I feel like more people try to pin me places politically,” Underwood said. “I try to stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public, because nobody wins. It’s crazy. Everybody tries to sum everything up and put a bow on it, like it’s black and white. And it’s not like that.”

Though Underwood never officially endorsed any candidate in the 2024 election, this decision has led many to associate her with support for Trump.

Underwood’s former fans have since come together to call for a boycott of her career, expressing their disapproval of both her and her decision to perform at the inauguration. Many have taken to social media to criticize her, voicing their disappointment and condemning her involvement in the event.

Regardless of the backlash, Carrie Underwood is likely to find a balance, gaining as many followers as she may lose in the process.

Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean is scheduled to perform at the inaugural ball, following Trump's official swearing-in as the 47th President of the United States.

The specific setlist Aldean will perform remains unknown, but what is clear is his longstanding support for Trump. The country hitmaker and his wife, Brittany, are outspoken about their political stance, which has led to backlash over the years.

The couple has consistently shown support for Donald Trump, even appearing at the Republican National Convention. Their political views have faced significant public criticism as a result.

Given Aldean's past involvement with Trump, it’s no surprise he would be part of this monumental day—and that fans have strong opinions about his participation.

Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts will also perform at the inaugural ball, after Trump takes the oath of office.

This will mark the trio’s first public performance since reuniting after a four-year break. This reunion performance will be a highly anticipated moment, bringing their signature sound back to the spotlight.
